Taking a leading role within the commercial team, you will drive the sales of our innovative space and high-reliability products. With industry-changing technology reaching maturity and ready for a strong commercial push, you will be a major part of building customer relationships, shaping partnerships, and driving change across aerospace, defence, and critical industries.

SPHERICAL is transforming semiconductor chip design using agile techniques and model-based engineering approaches. We leverage advancements in software and machine learning to empower engineers while increasing productivity by 10x. Our mission is to create high-quality electronics tailored for the space and high-reliability industries, including power and control products, and to pioneer a new category of system-shaped silicon.
About the Role
We are seeking a Business Developer who can build strong customer pipelines, engage with senior stakeholders across the space, aerospace, and defence ecosystem, and close commercial opportunities. You will work closely with the CEO and leadership team to grow revenue, expand market reach, and ensure our solutions meet the needs of leading system integrators, primes, and agencies.
This role is a mix of strategic development and hands-on sales execution: from qualifying leads and managing proposals, to shaping strategic partnerships and representing SPHERICAL at industry events.
Key Responsibilities
• Identify and develop new business opportunities in the space, aerospace, and high-reliability electronics markets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders (primes, Tier-1 suppliers, agencies, and investors).
• Own the full sales cycle: from lead generation and qualification, to proposals, contract negotiations, and closing deals.
• Work with technical and product teams to translate customer needs into solutions and compelling offers.
• Represent SPHERICAL at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events.
• Develop account strategies, market insights, and forecasts to support revenue growth.
• Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to shape go-to-market strategy and long-term growth.
Key Qualifications
• Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management in high-tech, space, aerospace, defence, semiconductors, or related sectors.
• Strong understanding of B2B sales cycles with large organisations and public agencies.
• Ability to engage with technical stakeholders and translate complex technology into clear value propositions.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Entrepreneurial, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Fluency in English (other European languages a plus).
• Willingness to travel.

Practicalities
• Full time
• Location: Based in Schiedamsedijk, Rotterdam, NL.
• Hybrid working environment, min. 1 day/week onsite to build strong team dynamic, focused work from home possible other day.
• Reporting to Thomas Parry, CEO.
