SPHERICAL, a Dutch aerospace electronics company specialising in high-reliability microchip design, has announced the formation of a new subsidiary in the United Kingdom. The move places SPHERICAL at the heart of the UK’s space and defence ecosystem and marks a significant step in the company’s European growth strategy.

“We’re pleased to be setting up in the UK, a country with a practical, mission-driven approach to space and a strong industrial foundation,” said Thomas Parry, Founder and CEO of SPHERICAL. “This presence enables us to engage more directly with British customers and contribute to national programmes with on-site support.”

The UK office will initially focus on customer engagement, R&D, partnerships, and programme development across civil and defence space domains.

SPHERICAL is Europe’s fastest designer of space semiconductors. Its flagship product, powered by dedicated semiconductor design, is a software-defined Power Conditioning and Distribution Unit (PCDU) that offers unmatched flexibility and resilience for modern satellite platforms. Backed by over €6M in funding, the company is delivering on three customer contracts and is contracted for several pan-European R&D projects under Horizon Europe, ESA, and EFRO programmes.

The announcement was made at the UK Space Conference in Manchester. Representatives from the UK Space Agency welcomed SPHERICAL’s commitment to establishing UK operations.
